Services — Convex Studio

Convex is a bespoke CG, VFX and motion studio.

We work across full CG production, VFX, compositing, animation, motion design, look development, technical delivery and production support.

Every project is scoped around the creative, technical requirements, timeline and delivery needs. We don't use fixed packages, because the right approach depends on the work.

What we do

  • Shot-based visual effects, integration, cleanup, set extensions, screen comps, CG integration and final compositing.
  • Fully CG or CG-led production, from asset builds and animation through to lighting, rendering, compositing and delivery.
  • Looping CG gifs, isolated motion systems, product moments, campaign assets, toolkit elements and repeatable animated components.
  • Product-focused shots, branded motion moments, titles, supers, endboards and polished campaign finishing.
  • Styleframes, look development, visual testing and creative exploration to help shape the final direction before full production.
  • Prep, tracking, roto, paint, plate fixes, conforms, technical setup and support for wider post or production workflows.
  • VFX supervision and on-set support to help capture what is needed for post, including plates, references, measurements and technical guidance.
  • Final delivery support, versioning, localisation, technical exports, online support and grade-aware finishing where required.

What shapes the scope

  • The number of shots, assets, deliverables or versions needed has a direct impact on time, team size, review rounds and delivery planning.
  • Simple cleanup, compositing and 2D work sit very differently from full CG, simulations, character work, technical builds or complex integrations.
  • Tighter schedules can affect team size, review time, render planning and how much flexibility there is for creative development or exploration.
  • We need to understand what is being supplied, what state it's in, and whether assets are approved, final and usable.
  • If plates, edits, turnovers or supplied assets need to be conformed, cleaned up, organised or rebuilt by Convex, this is treated as part of the scope and factored into the quote and schedule.
  • Masters, cutdowns, socials, localisation, alpha exports, toolkits, stills, project files or extra formats can all affect the final scope.
  • Our quotes usually include one round of amends as standard. A second round may be possible within the agreed budget, depending on the complexity of the feedback and the stage of the project. Multiple rounds, new directions, late-stage changes or feedback outside the agreed scope should be expected to affect the budget and schedule.

For very small jobs, we may quote against day rates, but we don't always take these on. We prioritise full productions and properly scoped project work.

How we quote

  1. Step 01Send the detailWe ask for as much useful information as possible — briefs, scripts, edits, references, shot lists, assets, timings, delivery specs and deadlines.
  2. Step 02We break it downWe work through the creative and technical needs of the job and identify the right approach, team and timeline.
  3. Step 03We build a custom quoteA bespoke quote is built around the agreed scope, not a fixed package.
  4. Step 04Scope stays liveIf the brief, edit, assets, timeline, shot count or delivery requirements change, the scope changes too. The quote and schedule may then be adjusted to reflect the additional work.
